I have searched the existing feature requests, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate request.
The feature
Currently, Immich supports a "Show in Timeline" toggle for partner sharing, which allows hiding a partner's shared assets from the main timeline. I propose extending this functionality to individual albums.
Request:
Add a per-album setting (e.g., "Show in Timeline") that determines whether assets from that album appear in the main timeline. When disabled, all photos/videos belonging to that album will be hidden from the timeline view.
Use case:
Hide low-quality or screenshot albums that clutter the timeline.
Keep private or sensitive albums (e.g., receipts, documents, temporary memes) out of sight when showing the timeline to others.
Allow users to organize less important media without polluting their chronological feed.
Behavior expectations:
The setting should be accessible from the album’s options (e.g., a toggle switch).
When disabled, assets from that album are excluded from the timeline globally (across web and mobile).
The setting should not delete or move assets; it only filters timeline display.
Ideally, an asset belonging to multiple albums should be shown in the timeline if any of its albums have "Show in Timeline" enabled (or a clear rule documented).
