What would you want to do with these "stickers", just store them as a new asset? From what I can tell there's no way for an app to save one to the system so it can be used from other places or such. |

I have searched the existing feature requests, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate request.
The feature
It would be a fantastic addition to have a feature that allows users to extract the foreground/subject of a picture to create stickers, similar to the functionality currently available in Google Photos or the native iOS Photos app.
Instead of running heavy foreground/background detection models on the Immich server, the mobile app could potentially leverage the local AI/ML resources and native APIs of modern smartphones (e.g., Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy, or newer iPhones). Since these devices already have built-in, highly optimized hardware (NPUs) for subject cutout, it would keep the server load low and make the feature lightning-fast.
This is a very popular feature for everyday use, especially when sharing pictures in messengers. Having this capability directly inside the Immich app would significantly increase the WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) and general user satisfaction for our self-hosted solutions, bringing Immich another step closer to full feature parity with big-tech cloud galleries.
